Stressed out? Maybe not now but you’ve probably walked down stress alley. I’m sure we all have. Seems like more people are stressed out more than ever nowadays. Stress has lead to many deaths!!! I don’t know about you, but I don’t think it’s worth death.
So, how can we deal with a stressed out life? You may even be connected with someone who is stretched in many ways.
1. Seek help
We live in a “mind your own business” society. But, we all need someone to help us with life’s problems. Don’t be afraid to seek help from a stable individual that you can trust. Be sure that you don’t load your problems on that person. Note that EVERYONE is dealing with something. So, don’t try to give someone all of your problems. And, don’t expect someone else to solve your issues. Seeking professional help is also an option.
2. List the Good
We all have something to be thankful about. Take a moment and look around you. Make a list of things (or people) that you should be thankful for. You can start by listing that you are alive and able to read. You also have some way of internet access to read this blog. Be confident in the little things. You can find pleasure in being thankful.
Move your body! Exercising takes your mind off of your daily worries. Start with at least 30 minutes of exercise. This also allows your feel good endorphins to release within your body. If you workout in a gym setting, you most likely will be around other confident individuals and people on a mission. This should inspire you! After all, who ever regrets a workout?
4. Declutter Your Space
Most of our area is just filled with STUFF! The room, car, & office are just packed with junk! Items that haven’t been touched! A mess free home will help ease your mind. If you cannot manage to declutter, organize what’s in your area. You’ll feel much better in an organized environment. Besides, you will increase your stress by trying to look for things. You’ll be more productive and stress free when you’re in a mess free area. NOTE: You may also have to clean some people out of your life.
Our lives are too valuable and too short to “bugg out!” Make an intentional effort to be stress free. This is something that I had to learn. It’s easy to take the world’s problems on our shoulders. It’s even easier to try to handle the problems of our families. We have to check ourselves and tell our negative emotions to shut up! When you feel like you’re stressed out, ask yourself:
– Why am I REALLY upset?
– Does this situation involve ME?
– Am I hindered by this?
– Is “it” worth my precious energy?
– Did I bring this situation on myself? If so, how can I prevent myself from doing this again?
– Am I misunderstanding the situation/person?
– What actions must I take to eradicate this problem? (You must take action to relieve what stresses you).
You’re better than stress! Live a long, happy, successful life! No one wants to be around an ugly, dry person. Yes, that’s what stress can do to you!
Have you learned anything? Have you been around stressful people? How do you deal with stress?
