So Social Consulting
I never grew up thinking I’m a “social butterfly.” I would oftentimes tell my mom that she never meets a stranger. No matter where we went, she found someone to talk to. Thinking back to the months after I graduated from high school, we all were excited about going to college. Excited not for the big dorm move in day or the campus party, but we were excited to get a college e-mail address. We were ready to join Facebook! At that time, Facebook was so exclusive because it was only accessible to college students. I also connected with life-long friends on social media, MySpace to be exact. We campaigned online as we ran for class office. I went from being freshman class vice-president all the way to Student Government vice-president. Social media was always a big win.
Flash forward a few years after college, I truly needed another stream of income. So, I started a business and I used social media because I’m not a social butterfly like my mother. At that time, the company I was apart of was so anti-social media. I recall some people saying, “Get up from your computer, leave it alone!” To add, my grandmother always tells me, “You’ve always got your face in the phone.” I remember this so vividly, I was twirling around in my chair at my former job, I asked my self: Why aren’t people social? They need to be social. Like, so social! That intense moment of thought was the birth of So Social Consulting, LLC.
